A Little Linked-Ingenuity
Tonight I was listening to the very first episode of The Connections Show, a great podcast on social networking by Stan Relihan, a recruiter in Australia. More about Stan in a moment but during the program, he happened to mention a website called Linked Intelligence (brilliant name/great tagline).
I’ve been bouncing off LinkedIn a bit so I was very pleased to find such an extensive compendium of well, intelligence on how to get the most out your network. Even the most grizzled LinkedIn veteran might glean a tip or two from the post on 100+ Smart Ways to Use LinkedIn. You’ll also want to check out the amusing video called “LinkedIn in Plain English.” It’s by Lee and Sachi Lefever at CommonCraft who explain social networking and all sorts of other things on their YouTube Channel. Since I’m also in the explanation business, I have to admire the spare and elegant clarity of their work.
As for Stan Relihan, he also mentioned during that first episode that he had more than 7,000 people in his LinkedIn network. I’ve been working on building up my network so I had a look at his profile. While I was there, I saw that Stan is connected to four people I know, including someone I work with and my very own sister (who’s also a recruiter in the specialty chemicals industry).
Such is the power of LinkedIn.
Thanks, Connection Show!
